Spring Training From A Fan
By fan Brianna, 15

Dear Paul O'Neill,

I just got back from spring training yesterday, and I would just like to tell you that you made my trip unbelieveable. On Saturday I was in a line of about 10 people long at the YES booth waiting to get your autograph before the game. About 5 minutes before the game everyone said you weren't going to sign, so they went back to their seats. But then I went up to the booth and I wanted to get some good pictures of you, and at least see you up close. Becuase you Paul O'Neill made me fall in love with the sport of baseball the way you played it, the way you gave everything you had, you always gave 100%, you were a warrior. So I was waiting there at the booth, and then you grabbed my hat and pen and said "Were gonna go on the air in about a minute, but that doesn't really matter does it", and then you laughed. And you signed my hat! And then I couldn't talk I just mumbled "Thank you Paulie, Thank you Paulie" for the next five minutes. Mr. O'Neill I don't know if you remember signing for me, but I will remember that forever. You seemed so nice, and genuine, and down to earth, something very rare in baseball players today. And may I add I got my most legiable autograph from you. Paulie I want to thank you so much, you made my spring training unbelieveable, I'll never forget those 30 seconds when you signed my hat, I can tell that story forever and I'm just so happy. I have mlb.tv so I listen to you and Michael Kay almost everyday. I just want to say thank you a thousand times Paulie you made me so happy.

Thank you, Brianna, 15
