Winners of Stadium Memory Contest

Since there were so many good memories written about, we had to choose two. Here they are and thanks to all the people that shared their thoughts by writing in:

Richard Prezioso
In 1969, my father brought me along with my three older brothers to see Mickey Mantle play his last game at Yankee Stadium. I was eight. Everytime Mantle was at bat, the opposing team walked him. I remember sitting on my seat drinking a soda when I noticed everyone standing up trying to catch the foul ball just hit by Mickey Mantle. Somehow, after the foul ball touched and bobbled from hand to hand, the baseball landed right in my cup splashing me. My father told me this was Mickey’s last foul ball and, of course, over the years, my older brother had it on his shelf, claiming ownership due to age until one day my nephew destroyed the baseball playing in the street with it. We should have tried to have it signed by Mantle but it was a great moment in time.

My very first game, 1999. The feeling that I’ve been here before, that I know this place like a home even though it's my very first time. Watching El Duque's leg kick in person and hearing how loud the pop is when the ball hits the catcher’s mitt. Knowing that at thirteen years-old, I chose the right team.
