I am thirteen years old, and I am the only girl left in my little league division. I want people to understand that even though I am a girl that I can still play just as well as any other individual on the field. My position is usually second base, but my coach had placed me in left field against the top of the team’s order. Of course, I wasn’t exactly enthused at the chance to play left, but I ran to the position anyway. The other team was extremely huge, to say the least, and I was playing deep. The first batter up hit a rocket right to me, and I caught it. The next batter hit a blooper to shallow left, and I sprinted, then slid on my knees to catch it for the second out. Finally, the third batter up hit a ball even closer to the infield, and I sprinted as fast as I could, slid on my stomach, and caught the ball for the final out of the inning. I felt very proud of myself that day; I finally showed everyone that indeed, a girl can play baseball.
